From Farmers’ Markets to SHIPAID

We didn’t start SHIPAID in a boardroom. We built it by running ecommerce businesses, negotiating shipping, handling claims, and dealing with the fallout when deliveries went wrong. That experience led to one conclusion: when brands don’t control shipping outcomes, they lose trust. SHIPAID gives merchants that control.

The Journey
SHIPAID wasn’t built in a boardroom. It was built in the trenches.
2012

Built from zero - Founded Raw Juicery at farmers’ markets. Learned firsthand what it takes to earn trust one order at a time.

2014

Local scale exposed shipping friction - Expanded into ecommerce and local delivery. Shipping became the bottleneck: costs, reliability, and customer expectations.

2015

Saw the merchant problem inside Shopify - Entered the Shopify ecosystem and scaled DTC + B2B. The pattern was clear: when brands don’t control policies and outcomes, they lose trust.

2018

Solved logistics, but not post-purchase - Cracked nationwide distribution and carrier operations. Even with better shipping, delivery issues still created support load and margin leakage.

2019

Proved the model with ShipFare - Built a platform for perishable brands. Confirmed a core insight: merchant-owned policies and workflows outperform insurer-led “coverage.”

2022

SHIPAID launched - Turned the insight into a product: branded protection, automated resolutions, and a self-serve experience merchants control end-to-end.

2024

Expanded into the full promise layer- Partnered with a group purchasing organization, exited prior ventures, and doubled down on SHIPAID as the system that lowers costs, prevents abuse, and protects customer relationships at scale.
